Welcome to ODU Writes a Book!
We invite you to help us kick off ODU Writes a Book in the Learning Commons @ Perry Library on Tuesday, February 11th at 12:30 p.m. The program coordinators, University Librarian, Provost, and Vice-Provost for Faculty and Program Development will welcome participants, provide an overview of the project, and discuss the structure and expectations for the project. WVEC will be there to cover this opening event.
Writing will commence at 1:00 p.m.!
Here’s how to get started on your chapter:
ODU Writes a Book will be composed in the digitally mediated environment of Google Docs. If you have never used Google Docs, don’t worry! The learning curve is low, and before you know it, you will be moving right along! Follow these instructions and remember to seek out help if you need it.
Click here to be directed to Registration/Terms & Conditions form. After you have accepted the terms and conditions, you will be directed to another link that directs you to the master folder for this project. Logon to the project using your ODU faculty or student account information.
For easy access during the project, we recommend you add this file to your “My Drive” so that you will be able to edit documents for the project’s duration of twenty-four hours.
If you are initiating a chapter to write individually or collaboratively, please create a subfolder (see Collaborating and Organizing).
If you are using a mobile device, such as an iPhone, iPad, or Android, we recommend downloading the Google Drive app for those devices rather than using the full website version of Google Drive.
